Regional Settings
This allows you to choose the country you are in, which will be used by some programs, especially for on-line registration of products. You can also define in here how you want to see certain numbers - for example you may want (if you are French) to have your decimal point displayed as a comma and then use space to separate thousands. Similarly in the Time tab you may want time to use different time separators or you may, if you are American, like your dates set out as mm:dd:yy, instead of dd:mm:yy. This control panel changes all of these as well as the default currency denomination and much more.
There has been one addition and that is to the date tab where there is a setting that will attempt to help with the Year 2000 problem. In Calender there is a setting for a century long definition, so you can say that if the system is given a two digit date it should assume it is the date as being between the start and end date. For example the settings 1930 to 2029 (default) mean that a 30 two digit date is interpreted as 1930 and a 20 two digit date as 2020. Change the range to 1950 to 2049 and they would be interpreted as 2030 and 2020.
